Wendy's Cupcakes

Today I have a very special card to share. It's no secret that I love quilts. If I had more time and a different life, I'd make quilts to sell. But, until today I've never put a quilt background on one of my cards. Now, I'm hooked. I love the old-timey vintage feel of the quilt, the colors, and the delightful stamp from Little Darlings, Wendy's Cupcakes. But, she's on the clearance rack, so hurry and scoop her up!

For this design, I simply cut 1" squares with a punch, and then cut those in half to create the quilt triangles. I used a simple Pinwheel pattern to create the design, and then ran the entire thing through a quilt top embossing folder (yes, an embossing folder!) The folder is new from Stampin Up (available in Sept 2017 - if you're interested in it, leave a comment and I can get you hooked up).

Here are the colors I used for Wendy and her cupcakes:
skin - E13, 11, 01, 000, 0000, R20, 21
hair - 100, N09, 07, E77
clothes - E39, 35, 34, 31, RV34, 32, 11
party hat - BG34, 23, G12, 05, R29, 27, 24
cakes - RV32, 21, 10, E55, 31, 41, Y11, YR31, 20, G05, 12, BG34, 23, R29, 27, 24, 22

I'm going to use Wendy as my 2nd entry into the Little Darlings DT call. Hopefully she will bring me luck!

Thanks for popping by today!
