Color My World

Christy has just released a couple of new, adorable images over at the Tiddly Inks shop. Today I've colored up little Molly in Color my World. Isn't she just too much?! You know what is extra special?...the space for you to customize your design further by drawing or writing a message right into her easel paper.

Don't you just love her purple-tipped hair?! Had to make her look artsy :) And I found that little white puff ball in my stash - perfect size for the little poof on her beret.

Here's my color recipe:
skin - E4, 21, 00, 000, 0000, R20, 21
hair - E79, 29, 27, 25, 23, 21, V06, 04, 01
reds - R89, 29, 27, 24
dress - V06, 17, 04, 15, 01
doggie - E47, 44, 43, 42, W7, 5, 1

Thanks for popping by (again) today!

Balloon Rose

I simply adore Rose with Balloon from C.C. Designs, and all the "Rose" images. Love that short hair. I had a moment of inspiration the other day and love the way she turned out!

Here's my color recipe for Rose:
skin - E13, 11, 21, 00, 51, 50, R20
hair - E29, 25, 21
pinks - RV69, 66, 55, 52
blues - B99, 37, 95, 91
shoes - E39, 35, 32
(and...I forgot the rest! I'm sorry!)

I finished her off with some simple Nuvo glitter drops in Sherbet Shimmer. Those glitter drops add such a cute (and perfectly round) sparkle!

Berry Sweet

Today I'm sharing my first official post as a Tiddly Inks DT member. I'm so excited to be a part of this talented group! So, in honor of my first post, I've chosen to use the image that got me into Tiddly Inks, Berry Sweet. It's still one of my absolute favorites.

Here's my color recipe for this card:
skin - E04, 21, 00, 000, 0000, R20, 21
hair - E40, 41, 42, 43, 44
pink - RV34, R83, 81
green - G07, YG45, 41
strawberries - R89, 29, 27, 24
mushrooms - E47, 44, 43, 42, R27, 08, 05
stems - W7, 5, 3, E81
background - B02, 000, 0000

I limited my embellishments to a white gel pen and some Nuvo glitter drops in Sherbet Shimmer (an exact match for the pinks in this card).

Simply Anya

Today I tried a new hair color combination on Simply Anya, who is currently available in The Greeting Farm store. I also branched out and colored her hair differently than my usual. I am loving my little carrot top!

I paired my girl with the Sparkle and Shine stamps and dies, and finished her off with some simple washi and cutie pink sequins.

Here's my color recipe:
skin - E04, 11, 01, 00, R20
hair - Y38, YR14, 16, 18
top - BV04, 02, 01, 00

Faith the Fairy

I'm back after a long weekend with this cutie from Stamping Bella, Faith the Fairy. She's a reminder for all you out there that there is ALWAYS hope.

I decided to keep this card simple and limited it to my Copics. I'm entering her into this week's Bellarific Friday challenge.

Snow Days

I've never been skiing or snowboarding in my life. And I don't think I'm missing anything. I had so much fun creating the card below, using Kraftin' Kimmie's Snow Days. I'm entering it into the Krafty Guest Contest as my second entry. I completely agree with the sentiment, and the look of fear on my girl's face.

I colored her up with my Copics, and used a photography technique for the background snowflakes. I think it makes the world look like a fairy land.

Here's my card recipe:
face - E13, 11, 21, 00, 51, 50, R20
hair - E70s
outfit - RV66, 52, 50, 000
oranges - YR04, l4, 00
other: background inks are a mix of Stampin Up's Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant, and Island Indigo. I also used my Spica clear glitter pen for the fluffy ball on her hat. Makes it sparkle so pretty!

Beach Babe

Today I'm sharing a card I made for Wryn Beach Babe. She so looked like she needed to go to the beach, so now she's there, and very happy too! I paired her with some fun accessories from Wryn's Beach Accessories. Everything in these sets flows together so well, even the great font for the sentiment. I decided to add a bit of summer fun funk and give Wryn raspberry-tipped hair. I think she likes it.

I used my Copics to color up Wryn and her crabby and seashell buddies, and had to give her a sparkling sea. So, I used my Twinkling H2Os (in Mystique, Raspberry Wine, and Sea Spray) for the water.  Here's a pic I took in direct sun so you can hopefully see the full effect of the shimmer better:

I'm entering this card as my third (and final) entry into the TiddlyInks DT call. While only one entry was needed to enter the contest, I wanted to give the judges a good sampling of my work. I would really like to be a part of this design team. My other entries can be found here: Card 2 and Card 1. Wish me luck!

Text Me Anya

I'm in love with Text Me Anya and the endless possibilities for pairing her with accessories (not only with a cellphone). Today I've colored her up with her little pup. I imagine them out for a sunny walk. Funny, when you put her with her puppy, it looks like a completely different stamp set! I love the versatility. The puppy (ca-yoot!) is from a retired Greeting Farm set, Pretty Hat.

Here's what I used to color them up:
skin - E15, 13, 11, 21, 00, 51, 50, R20
hair - E59, 57, 55, 53, 51
top - R02, 11, 12, 01
skirt - B99, 37, 95, 91
shoes - R24, 22, 20
doggie - W7, 5, 3, 1, E44, 43, 42, 40

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
The Greeting Farm June Farm Fresh Challenge
7 Kids Challenge #9

Eggcellent News

This card makes me smile every time I look at it. I absolutely love Wryn, and all the adventures she gets into. For this design, I printed out Wryn - Eggcellent News, one of the many adorable "Wryns" available from Tiddly Inks. This card is my second entry for the Tiddly Inks DT call. You can find my first card here and my third card here.

Christy's artwork is so delightful and whimsical, I wanted to make sure to do this little girl justice on the "whimsy" part. So, I kept the card one-layer simple, and added lots of white gel pen highlights. I kept my embellishments to a couple strands of twine, included some water spots and distressed the chocolate chip background paper to add a bit of vintage feel.

Here's my recipe list:
Hair - 100, W10, 7, 5, E74, 70
Skin - E04, 11, 00, 51, 50, R20
Eggs - BG07, 05, 02, 01, B000, BG0000
Branch - E47, 27, 15, 23, 34, 31
Nest - E99, 97, YR24, 23, Y35
Leaves - YG17, 13, 09, 06, 11
Dress - R89, 29, 27, 24
Other: tumbled glass and antique linen distress inks
Sentiment and extra leaves are by me.

I'm also entering this design in the Tiddly Inks Challenge #202 for this month.

Thanks for popping by today! Have a wonderful whimsical day!

Little Fairies

Itty-bitty stamps are the best, especially when they have coordinating dies! This is a card I made awhile back with Little Fairies by The Greeting Farm. I love piecing together a complete picture out of tiny pieces, so this was a joy to create.

I added some shimmer with Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry Colors watercolors. And, the sentiment is my own :)

Thanks for popping by today!

You're Nifty

Today I'm sharing a card I absolutely L-O-V-E using You're Nifty by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I tried to give this fun ice cream date a bit of a retro feel, and I hope you like it as much as I do!

Yes...I fussy cut that entire image out...in one piece!

There are several layers to this card, so here's a side view:

Just love that shiny background paper. I purchased it at JoAnn Fabrics (in store). It's in a big paper stack that contains images of ice cream, donuts, dill pickles, bacon, hot dogs, and tacos :)

For the colors I used:
Skin - (girl) E04, 11, 21, 00, 51, 50, R20, (boy) E23, 11, 21, 00, 51, 50, R20
Hair - (girl) E44, 43, 42, 04, (boy) E37, 19, 08, 21
Boy's shirt - BG07, 05, 02, 01

Molly my Sweet

Hi, today I've made a card for you using the darling Molly My Sweet by TiddlyInks. I think all of the Molly's are just sweet.

I'm entering this card in the DT call for TiddlyInks stamps. You can find the link to the call here. I'm so excited for this DT call - TiddlyInks is my FAVORITE. If I was a stamp, I'd be a TiddlyInk :)

Molly was telling me she'd like to be in an old-fashioned sweet shop in this scene, so I picked some striped paper from my stash and that luscious digital Yummy Paper Set, full of cupcakes and pies, over at TiddlyInks. The digital paper was the perfect touch for a feel of old-world whimsy.

I added a bit of Spica glitter pen to both the cupcakes (in buttercup) and the hem on the dress (in clear silver) to add some sparkle. Here's a close-up view:

After-posting note: I ended up with multiple entries for the DT call, so here is the link for my second card and here is the link for my third card.

Sleeping Cutie

This sweetie love bug is called Sleeping Cutie and she was part of the Whimsy Stamps new release last month. I colored her up using a no-lines technique...not too simple on this image, but I'm pleased with the way it turned out! I really enjoy hand lettering, so instead of using a stamped sentiment, I provided my own.

And...once again I did not record my Copic colors. Argh! I hope you enjoy this pretty little girl nonetheless.

Have a lovely day, and thanks for popping by!

Angel Wings

Today I'm sharing a card I made with the cute Angel Wings by C.C. Designs. They used to also sell a die that cut out the angel and some cute hearts, which I also used in my card.

Just love her to pieces! Here's my recipe:

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tumbled Glass and Pumice Stone Distress inks
Skin - E23, E11, E00, E000, R20
Hair - E21, E27, E29

Hearts - R89, R29, R27, R24, R81, R83, R85
Dress - forgot to record colors (sorry!)

Finally...!!

I'm back from my long break, and I'm happy to say that I've figured out how to make a watermark-kinda-thingy, so no more posts without those! That is pretty much why I took my break to begin with.

Here is today's post. I'm in love with the Elisabeth Bell range over at Whimsy Stamps. To me, these are just so cute, classic, and they remind me of all good things as a child.

I inked up Sun Kissed, colored her with my copics, and used some Bo Bunny papers for the background.
I forgot to mark down the colors I used for this little lady, but next time, I promise!

I'm entering her in the following challenges:

7 Kids Challenge blog, anything goes!
Whimsy Stamps challenge, anything goes with a twist of flowers.

Football girl

My family is obsessed with sports. Football, to be specific. If there had been a powderpuff league growing up, I certainly would have played. Which makes me think now...I'm glad there wasn't. Because I would have been the injured one. Over and over again.

But, I can get my football fill with this cutie pie little stamp from My Besties, Touchdown Trixie. I bought her on clearance at Joann, but unfortunately she isn't available any longer. It look me awhile to get into My Besties, but they are just the most adorable. Ever.
I colored Trixie up with my Copics, fussy cut her out, and then popped her up on this scene I made with some Pebbles paper and a sunshine stencil (actually a die doubling as a stencil) from Stampin Up. I hand lettered the sentiment. After taking this picture, I put glossy clear accents on her eyes (which I actually don't recommend). Oy.

And if you look closely enough, you can see where Cat 1 got her fur into the stamp...

Thanks for popping by today!

The Amigos

So, I've wanted to purchase Three Amigos by Mama Elephant for a loooong time. So, I was so surprised when I found a variant called "Two Amigos" At Joann Fabrics! Yes, by Mama Elephant! (Sorry, they don't have it listed on their website so I can't link you). AND it was 50% off! What I love is that the critters are totally different than those in the Three Amigos set, so someday I'm gonna have five amigos!!

The picture isn't that great. I took it really late at night, so I had to hold it up to the light source. ugh. But anyway, isn't it super cute?!

I used my Copics to color up the bunny and the teddy (I used a stippling technique on teddy to make him look furry).

I masked the images off and colored up my background with Pumice Stone distress ink, some stencil brushes, and this stencil from My Favorite Things. Gotta love stencils!

Thanks for popping by today! See you next time!

Fave design ever!

I love chocolate cake, with chocolate mousse frosting and a lovely raspberry ribbon center. If this card was a dessert, it would be that delectable chocolate cake....that's how much I am in love with this design!

I'm nuts for Merbeans, and Oona is probably my favorite. She's sold by The Greeting Farm. She's not currently available in the store, but they've got lots of other cuuuute stamps, and even some mermaids!

I colored this gal up with my Copics, and created a watercolored background with my Winsor and Newton watercolors. I embossed the sentiment, layered the background up with Kraft ink, and added bright accents with Gesso. Magical!

I'm entering this design in the Greeting Farm's Farm Fresh Challenge for March. I won the challenge last month, my first win! So happy about that! Thanks, TGF!

Thanks for popping by! Have a magical day!

Meet Dahlia

Wow...2 posts in one day! That's a first for me! This week is going to be busy for me, and I have to get 2 entries in to The Greeting Farm's Feb Farm Fresh Challenge. More chances to win some farm bucks to spend on my favorite stamps!

Here's a little box I made for a gift set of 3" notes. Sometimes it's so much easier to write a bitty note to say "thank you" rather than having to fill up a big page. And yet it still means a lot, especially since it's hand made. I colored up Dahlia with my Prismacolor pencils on Kraft paper (love that effect, don't you?), fussy cut her out, and popped her up on the box covered with some scrap paper and twine. The sentiment is from OA - My Favorite Things. I'm showing her below with the box open so you can see the rosy envelopes that match with the box cover. So cute!

Here's an initial pic I took of the box closed, but then I realized I forgot to color her tights...Oops!

Thanks for popping over today!

Shadow Box

It's been awhile since I've tried my hand at a shadow box card - love 'em and all the layers of depth I can achieve with them, but they take me a looong time...that could have a teeny bit to do with me being a perfectionist... :)

Today I created my shadow box with Stella from The Greeting Farm, for the Feb Farm Fresh Challenge. I hand-lettered the sentiment and rolled the flowers. Here she is!

Here's a partial side view, so you can see more of the depth:

This was a lot of fun to make. My recipe is as follows:

Hair: E31, E34, E37
Skin: R04, R11, E00, E000, R01, R20
Clothes: RV63, RV66, RV69
Eyes: YG15
Papers are from my old SU! stash

Thanks for popping by, see you again soon!

Movie Night

I can totally relate to the image on the card I made for this week's Bellariffic Challenge on the Stamping Bella blog...only in my case, it's cats not chickies!! The challenge was to use a die. Love that speech bubble!

For this card, I used Melissa Loves Movies which comes with the images and sentiment you see here. I colored her up with my Copics, and used a stencil die and Antique Linen distress ink for the wallpaper. The die is a big speech bubble from My Favorite Things.

Kinda makes you want to curl up with a movie and popcorn, doesn't it?!

Thanks for popping by, see you next time!

Hugs for all

I'm really loving no-line coloring! Today I used Stamping Bella's Heidi Needs a Hug to complete a sketch challenge. Here's the sketch:

I took a few liberties...no plain rectangles or circles for me! This stamp set was perfect for doctoring the sketch up a wee bit :)

Here's my completed card:

I popped Heidi up on some dimensional foam, and the lone chick on double-dimensional foam. I love the way this turned out! It feels happy.

Details:
Cardstock: Neenah Solar White and SU Blushing Bride
Patterned Paper: SU blossom pack
Bakers Twine
Washi Tape
Copic Markers

Cutie Patootie

I've been trying to work more with my colored pencils. I have become notoriously impatient in my coloring over the past few years, so working with the pencils forces me to chill out and relax - because the details have to be juuuust right :)

I don't know about you, but I never know how a project is going to turn out when I start it. I'm not one of those people who draw an outline of what's gonna go where. I just can't do it. But, I'm in love with this little girl Snuggle from The Greeting Farm, and I love the way she turned out.

I colored her with my Prismacolors, fussy cut her out, and popped her up on some dimensional tape. I made my own background out of some random heart stamps and two inks - Stampin Ups Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron (both limited edition). The second background layer is a beautiful dark purple. I sewed both background layers together - but I think I need a better thread for working with paper. Mine is pretty thin and I messed up part of the stitching.

Now, go snuggle someone...or your pet!

Thanks for popping by, see you next time!

I Love Fairies!

Hello! It's chilly here - winter has been coming and going all season - so a perfect day to curl up and finish my 2nd card for the Farm Fresh Challenge at The Greeting Farm!

I chose to use the Little Fairies stamps and dies, which I am SO in love with! Seriously. So tiny and whimsical - melt my heart!

I'm not the best at photography, but the card is a gorgeous yellow-gold nebula. A little fairy (notice her iridescent wings!) is throwing out an iridescent swirl that in my mind explodes into the encouragement to "to ahead and sparkle"!! I don't think you can see the swirl that well here, but it's really sparkly in real life! I also added some iridescent glitter tape as the background for yet another sparkle :) Oh...and some Wink of Stella on her crown and wings :)

Thanks for popping by. You go sparkle today!

Flapper Anya

Today I'm sharing a card I made with Flapper Anya and Sparkle & Shine stamps from The Greeting Farm - so much cuteness!! I wanted to showcase Flapper Anya on a stage. The idea I wanted to capture was of a lady, dancing and sparkling, no matter her age. That's why her hair is kind of gray. She actually reminds me a lot of a friend of mine, ha!

I colored her with my Copics. I used a stippling technique on her headband. I always love doing this, it gives such a nice subtle blend while looking like it has some texture in it, don't you think?

The background is a combination of distress inks - Dried Marigold and Worn Lipstick. The sentiment and the feather in her hair are embossed in gold, and she has a turquoise sequin in her headband.

Hopefully she'll bring me some luck as I enter her in the Greeting Farm's Jan 2017 Farm Fresh challenge!

Thanks for popping by, see you soon!

My First Bellarific Friday Challenge!

I'm so excited to share with you my design for the Friday challenge at Stamping Bella - my first evah! The parameter on this week's challenge was an inspiration photo - a gold frame with some vintage-y, shabby-chic-y (pinks of course) flowers around the frame, set against an old white brick wall. I decided to take the brick wall and the colors, and came up with this...I love it!

I used Prismacolors for the little superhero, Hayley the Hero, and distress inks on the brick background. For the ground itself, I used Stampin Up's Sahara Sand. I embossed the sentiment in gold, and tied a strand of baker's twine around the bottom.

She makes me smile - and the sentiment's a good reminder, especially for my Lymie friends!

Thanks for popping by, see you next time!

Happy Baby

I made a card last week for a dear friend whose child is turning 1. At that age, you know you're making the card for the parents rather than the little one... :)
BUT, we were all so surprised to see her little one's reaction to my card! He studied it - touched all its different pieces, and had a little conversation with it. I was so touched.

Here's the card:

Here's my supply list:

Cardstock and Patterned Paper: Stampin' Up Tangelo Twist (retired), Neenah Solar White
Stamps: Your Next Stamp Love and Smiles
Dies: SU squares layering dies, Love and Smiles dies
Inks: Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress inks, Copic markers
Embellishments: SU brights enamel shapes, white gel pen

Thanks for popping by, see you next time!

Gorjuss Prismacolors

I don't often work with colored pencils in my art. I actually still use the same complete Prismacolor set my father purchased for me while I was in high school. It was a gift - I spent all my money in the art store. Nothing like the smell of graphite, wax, and markers! <sigh>.

Well, today my Cat 1 (I have Cats 1, 2, and 3) and I decided to give my Prismacolors a workout. I paired them with a Gorjuss stamp I've been wanting to color for a long while. In fact, I have a BUNCH of Gorjuss stamps that I think would make a great card set! Maybe for a gift, maybe to sell.

Anyway, here is the art:

I kept it simple. Prismacolors and Gamsol. I would have added a sentiment but couldn't find one I liked with this image. To me she is contemplating the wonder of winter.

Happy day! See you next time!

Firsts!

I've dreamed up this blog for a long time, and am super-excited to officially launch it today!! Paper-crafting is a hobby I've had my entire life long...and the older I get, the more importance it holds!

These days, I craft along with my Cat Crew. Oh yes, they are integrally involved...in the stamp selection, inking, coloring, and of course, batting papers and embellishments around everywhere.

Today I'm sharing my very first no-lines coloring project, using the cute Lovable Anya set from the Greeting Farm. It's simple, and hopefully evokes some warm, cheery, hot-cocoa-y winter feelings:

Thanks for popping by, see you next time!
